McLean County Animal Control is a self-supporting (non tax payer funded) program designed to promote and protect public and animal safety in a variety of ways, including:
Prevention and control of rabies through rabies vaccination registration and bite investigations
Enforcement of county and state animal control and welfare laws
In certain circumstances, the collection of stray animals
Collection of bats within a home
Adoption of eligible animals to responsible homes
Promoting responsible pet ownership through education and community outreach
Adoption Process
At least 18 years or older
Have photo identification with current address
Be in compliance with local animal ordinances in regards to number of pets within a household
Own permanent property or show proof of permission from landlord to allow for pets.
Currently owned cats and dogs must be vaccinated for rabies and registered within the county they reside in.
