Looking for a best friend to join you on your runs, hikes, bike rides, and adventures? Meet Jovi. Jovi is not even a year old and has been in rescue since February—a huge portion of her young life spent waiting for her person. She’s a Border Collie/Shepherd/village dog mix with a busy brain, plenty of energy, and an incredible amount of love to give.
Jovi is fantastic at fetch, motivated by treats and toys, and loves getting her miles in on the PawFit AK mobile dog treadmill. She has the potential to be a really fun agility or dog-sports partner and would thrive with someone who enjoys keeping both her body and brain busy. And beneath all that energy is a very affectionate, devoted girl.
Jovi wants a person of her own so badly. She’ll look up at you with those sweet brown eyes like you’re the most important person in the world—and once she bonds with you, she has so much love to give. Jovi can be a little intense at first. She’s young, excited, and enthusiastic about pretty much everything! But with exercise, structure, consistency, and a little time to decompress, she settles down nicely.
She gets along with other dogs, although she can be a little fearful when meeting new dogs. She does great in the car and would love a home that includes her in the adventure. Because of her energy and intensity, she’s probably too much for young children right now. Jovi needs an active, patient home that understands young working-breed mixes and is willing to continue her training while giving her the structure and consistency she needs. In return, she’ll give you an incredible amount of loyalty, affection, and enthusiasm for life.
Jovi has been waiting since February. It’s time for her to find her person.
Jovi is also looking for a new foster while her current foster is out of town. If you’re interested in fostering or adopting Jovi, please submit an application!
