Hi! I’m Potato. I was rescued from the county pound just one day before I was scheduled to be executed. Back then, I was scared and completely shut down. I’m now living with my foster family, including two other dogs, a 13-year-old boy, and his mom. I love them all, but I dream of having a person or family to call my very own. I’m incredibly affectionate and naturally protective of the people I love. My trainer says I’m the best boy! I’m eager to please, listen well, and already know commands like sit, stay, heel, and come. I walk nicely on a leash with a gentle reminder, although I can get excited when I see other dogs and bounce around because I love to play.
People describe me as playful, sweet, cute (I won’t argue with that!), and affectionate. I absolutely love to cuddle. Every now and then I get the zoomies, but once I’m home, I’m happiest curling up for a nap—especially if it’s on your lap. My dream home is with someone who enjoys the outdoors, takes me on lots of walks and adventures, and will continue my training. I thrive when I have guidance and know I’m making my person proud. If you’re looking for a loyal, gorgeous, loving companion who’s ready to be your very best friend, you will find that in me!
