Akaibu (Kaibu) is an absolutely adorable little gray tabby who was found in the Fremont Main Library, in the Children’s section. She was six weeks old, lonely and hungry. Her beautiful amber eyes are outlined in a soft gray, and bracketed by dark gray bands. Akaibu (which means “archive” in Japanese) is super friendly, and absolutely considers people to be her family. She will follow you around the house and demand to snuggle with you when you sit down. At night, she likes to sleep pressed up against shoulders. Kaibu loves to play, and is a great hunter of toy mousies and feathers when she is not gleefully romping around the house with her best friend, Sadie. She is an extraordinarily happy little girl, and you can hear her purring from across the room.
One thing that will absolutely stop Kaibu in her tracks is food. She loves hers, yours, theirs, etc. She will focus on the sound of her food dish being filled with the enthusiasm of someone discovering the last donut in the break room after a really boring meeting. When she is not focusing on the important tasks of eating or sleeping, Akaibu can be seen zooming around the house, and tumbling head over heels with other kitties. Nothing scares this little ball of fluff. If something is new, she will puff her little tail, then go to investigate. She and her foster sister, Sadie, are absolutely wheelchair friendly, as well. She climbs chairs, couches, cat posts, and untended bags of cat food.
