To get to know Jazzy you may need some tissues near by. At just a month old, Jazzy and his siblings found themselves stranded on the cold streets of Rochester when their street cat mama was hit by a car. Their poor mother didn't make it and the litter was taken in by a bystander who surrendered them to GRASP for care. For the past couple months, Jazzy and his siblings have been cared for deeply by fosters who have worked to gain their trust, but it has been an uphill battle due to the litter's previous trauma with humans. Ever so slowly they have started opening up, but they are by no means ready for cuddles despite their adorable looks.
Jazzy is the only boy in a litter of five and he has two other female foster cat siblings. What does this mean? It means Jazzy boy is used to be surrounded by sass and he handles it like a champ. Jazzy is the bravest of his siblings and will face down the things that scare his sisters to show them that they will be okay. Although he does not like to be held still, he will play with his human foster parents when they toss him a feather toy or jingle ball which shows us that he has great potential to be human social one day. In the mean time when humans are too much, he will find any cat to play with. He has typical kitty energy and inherited his sisters' sass so he will play rough then hiss when he feels someone else plays as hard as him aka typical baby behavior. Jazzy has shown interest in the dogs in his foster house, but has not been brave enough to play with them. There is potential for him to be okay with dogs though with slow introductions. He has been around kids, but does not want to be handled by them. For this reason, older kids or cat experienced children are preferred.
Jazzy has the potential to be someone's adorable companion and a cat's lively playmate as long as a loving, respectful house open their hearts to give him the time he needs to heal from past wounds.
If patience is your strong suit and you are willing to put in the time to earn this boy's trust, Jazzy could be the little one for you.
