Meet John Muir, the handsome brown tabby with the personality to match. John Muir came to the Shelter as an injured stray. He had an incompletely healed fracture of his left femur. Our medical team has been overseeing his care at the Shelter since his intake and determined that he is comfortable and the fracture is stable at this time. He is still continuing to heal and may be vulnerable to refracture the site. Adopters will get counseling by our medical team when they come to do their meet and greet. John Muir spent a brief time in a foster home who reports he is a love. He met their resident cats and did well coexisting. A home with other animals may be a fit with a slow, thoughtful introduction. John Muir is recommended to be indoors only to help keep him safe and healthy. John Muir is available for preadoption â come meet him, fall in love and take him home after his neuter surgery. Please note: Our Santa Cruz locationâs Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end âmeet and greetsâ (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If youâd like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
