WATCH MY VIDEO...Drago has been searching every face that walks by, hoping it will be the one he knows. The one that tells him it's time to go home. At just 1 year old, this handsome American Staffordshire Terrier never imagined his world would change so quickly. When his family moved, life became too busy, and somehow there was no longer room for the dog who loved them so completely. Now, Drago sits in a kennel, confused and heartbroken, waiting for the people who aren't coming back. The shelter is a frightening place for him. He's nervous and unsure, constantly looking toward the door, wondering if today will be the day his family returns. Despite the sadness in his eyes, Drago has remained incredibly gentle. He hasn't let his broken heart change the sweet soul that still longs to love someone. His family shared that Drago did wonderfully with adults, children, and other dogs, although we always recommend dog meets for any potential canine siblings. He absolutely loves playing with other dogs when he feels safe, and has the joyful energy you'd expect from a young pup. He's strong, sometimes gets a little excited and jumps, and will definitely need sturdy chew toys because soft ones don't stand much of a chance. His favorite treats include chicken and crunchy carrots, and while he understands mostly Spanish, we're pretty sure he's ready to become bilingual for the right family. What he truly needs is patience, kindness, and gentle reassurance, along with pets, scratches, and love. There is so much life ahead of this beautiful boy. He deserves more than waiting behind kennel doors, wondering why everything he knew disappeared. He deserves a family that will make him feel safe again, laugh at his silly puppy antics, toss him a toy, share a carrot or a piece of chicken, and remind him every single day that he is home. If you've been looking for a loyal best friend with a heart as big as his smile, Drago is waiting. Help him stop searching for the family he lost and start celebrating the family he's been waiting for all along.
