Patches is an even-tempered and playful youngster. He often observes his human companions and follows them. Patches is playful with his siblings and well-behaved with the resident adult kitties. Patches is nervous when held by inexperienced humans, so older, gentle, confident kids would be a better fit for him. Patches is
still a baby, so he'll need gentle reinforcement of play boundaries and appropriate clawing surfaces, etc.
Patches is cautious with dogs and would need slow introduction to canine siblings.
Patches is one of our 9 panleukopenia survivors in summer 2026. Because of his medical history, adopters must be aware that his neuter should be delayed until November-December 2026. Further, adopters should be aware that panleukopenia survivors must be carefully monitored in case they develop FIP. FIP is a treatable feline illness that is seen at higher rates in panleukopenia survivors. Adopters will commit to treat FIP and not euthanize without first contacting HDDCR and offering HDDCR the opportunity to treat.
