Elsie and Ferdinand are an adorable bonded pair of siblings that were rescued from the streets of Chicago along with their young mom and four other siblings. Their mom Clarabelle (also available for adoption) kept 6 kittens alive and chubby for 8 weeks while they lived outside on an abandoned lot in the city.
Once inside their foster homes they have continued to thrive and grow and these two babies are an absolute delight!
Elsie is the black and white cow print girl with a perfect little heart nose. She is playful, curious and sweet as can be. She is also the very first foster cat I've ever had that will properly fetch toys - where she actually chases the spring toy and brings it back for you to throw it again. Make sure you have plenty of springs on hand to throw because she will play fetch and then cuddle up on your lap when she's tuckered out.
Her brother Ferdinand is a little love bug who just wants to snuggle and look up at you lovingly while he gets pets and scritches. He has an adorable personality and will follow Elsie when she chases after toys but then instead of the toy he catches her and they have a quick little wrestling match. Ferdinand is the only cat in this family of 7 that is not black and white. He is a buff/orange creamsicle boy with perfect tie dye swirls on his sides and if you flip him over he's got spots.
These two kittens are waiting to meet you and hoping to join your family!
We encourage you to consider adopting kittens in pairs! There are several reasons why Elsie and Ferdinand would do well together, including:
-Two kittens keep each other entertained
- They will play and get all their energy out on each other in time for snuggles with you!
- Having two kittens to play with each other prevents "I'm lonely and bored" behavioral issues.
- Watching two kittens wrestle is quite possibly the cutest thing you will ever see.
- The kittens will teach each other "how to cat" and learn to be more social with humans and people.
- You'll save two lives instead of one!
Elsie and Ferdinand are microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, and litter box trained. Elsie and Ferdinand’s adoption fee is $330 ($165 x 2). Please note A.R.F. does not approve applications for any kitten under 6 months of age to families that live outside of Illinois and/or beyond 100 miles of Wheaton or Glen Ellyn, IL. If you are interested in meeting them, please fill out our online kitten adoption application at https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/application/ today! Once your application has been approved, an A.R.F. volunteer will be able to contact you to arrange a meeting.
