Hi, I'm Duke
I was born on May 25th, one of six puppies in my litter. I don't remember much from those early days, except that nobody was really watching out for us. My brothers, sisters, and I kept wandering into the road — it was scary, and dangerous, and we didn't know any better. Some kind neighborhood kids started keeping an eye on us, making sure we stayed safe. And then one day, a neighbor with a good heart took all of us in. I don't know where I'd be without that kindness.
I was the runt of the litter. I think that's part of why I'm a little different from my siblings — I like my quiet time. Sometimes I'll wander off by myself for a nap, just me and my own little world for a while. But don't let that fool you — the second there's playing going on, or someone's handing out attention, I am right there in the middle of it all. I don't want to miss a single bit of love.
I'm pretty mellow for a puppy, if I do say so myself. I'm smart, I catch on quick, and I'm already almost housebroken — I'm working hard to be a good boy. More than anything, I just love being petted and getting attention. It makes my whole world feel right.
I didn't get the easiest start. But I'm still just a little guy full of hope, looking for someone who'll give me the soft place to land I've always wanted. If you've got room in your home — and your heart — for a sweet, loving pup like me, I'd love to meet you.
