NEW INTAKE 8/1/2026: Squidgit - female - approx 7 years old - 4.14 pounds - Shih Tzu
Reason for intake: Squidgit came to us from a lady who found her weeks ago in Bastrop. She lives in the area and posted her on social media and tried to find her home but no one ever came forward. She was heavily matted and riddled with fleas. the finder did trim around her eyes so she could see. Not knowing what to do, the finder contacted a rescuer in her area, who contacted us. Since the finder did try to find the owner and had the dog for nearly three weeks, we agreed to take her in. We've since sent her to our groomer, Wendy, to clean her up. She's now at our vet for everything she needs. Stay tuned!
NOT TAKING APPLICATIONS: Many dogs, particularly breeder, hoarder or senior dogs, can have multiple medical issues that need addressed. Additionally, sometimes we take in young puppies requiring multiple vaccinations and/or quarantining. In this particular case, we are not yet taking applications either due to age or possible illness or some other reason. We will post when s(he) is ready for adoption. In the interest of fairness, EARLY application submissions will NOT be considered. Please note… we cannot respond to messages/emails, etc., on dogs that are NOT yet available for adoption.
