Foxie is a 2-year-old spayed mixed-breed dog with a sweet gentle nature.. She already knows the cue “sit” and enjoys working with her people through positive reinforcement and rewards. Foxie is looking for an experienced dog owner with breed knowledge who can provide a calm, quiet, and structured home environment where she can continue to build confidence and thrive. Due to her shy and insecure tendencies, as well as her not always wanting to share her treats and food, an adult-only home is required, and she is highly recommended to be the only dog in the household. Any dog introductions should be completed slowly in a controlled setting, with only calm and quiet canine companions considered. Foxie will do best with a family committed to daily leash walks, a securely fenced backyard, and through hand feeding, trade-ups, and interactive feeding toys or bowls. She is not a candidate for off-leash parks at this time, as she will benefit from developing a strong bond with her adopter, improving her recall skills, and being carefully monitored during one-on-one dog interactions. Foxie also requires an owner who can keep up with her daily grooming needs through regular brushing and is willing to participate in a private behaviour training class to help her reach her full potential.
