Ziggy is a handsome 7-year-old, 50-pound sweetheart looking for a patient, understanding family to give him the peaceful life he deserves.
Rescued from a South Carolina shelter in 2021, Ziggy has come a long way, but he still struggles with severe anxiety. Despite his fears, he has never lost his gentle, loving nature. Once he feels safe and comfortable, he's happiest snuggled up on the couch with his favorite person.
Ziggy is a laid-back, mellow boy who would thrive in a quiet home with a predictable routine. Loud noises, busy environments, and large gatherings make him anxious, so he's much happier relaxing at home than heading out on big adventures. He isn't looking for an active lifestyle—he's looking for someone who simply enjoys sharing a peaceful home.
He's respectful around children and other pets, preferring to quietly coexist rather than seek attention. Ziggy generally keeps to himself, making him a calm presence in the home.
Ziggy does have allergies that developed about two years ago and will require ongoing management with medication and a special diet. While his care does come with some added expense, those who earn his trust will discover an incredibly sweet, loyal companion who simply wants to feel safe and loved.
His current owner loves him deeply, but due to a demanding work schedule, can no longer provide the time, consistency, and companionship Ziggy needs. This heartbreaking decision is being made entirely out of love, with the hope of finding him a home where he can truly flourish.
If you work from home, are retired, or simply spend a lot of time at home, you may be exactly the person Ziggy has been waiting for. With patience, understanding, and a calm environment, he has so much love to give.
