Meet MaruMaru is a domestic shorthair born in April 2022. At first he was very shy and unsure of people. It took about six months for him to fully trust, but once he did, he became the sweetest boy.Maru loves other cats and for the past few years he has been trying to cuddle and play with his adopted sister, Mitsuki, but she preferred humans. Maru has found friends with his foster momâs resident cats, but he can be a bit much for them as he gets extra excited. Because of this, we believe he would do well with another âextraâ friendly cat, especially another boy who enjoys playing and wrestling at his level, or even possibly a small/medium size dog who has lots of energy, loves to wrestle, but has had experience with cats. His favorite toy is a fuzzy mouse filled with catnip. He loves kibble and is always excited for mealtime. He also has a funny habit of wanting to munch on romaine lettuce whenever he gets the chance. He enjoys sleeping in sunny spots and on soft blankets, but lately he has been loving sleeping under the bed covers, even though it is hot. One of cutest things he does is curl up into a little ball and tuck his face under his paws while he sleeps. He doesn't enjoy being picked up, but he will happily sit on your lap if you have a blanket over you. He likes cheek scratches and pets along his back. He also enjoys being brushed, although he gets a little wiggly after a while. Instead of a normal meow, he makes the cutest little chirping sounds.Maru is litter box trained and has used both regular and automatic litter boxes. He does scratch furniture, so having several scratching posts and cardboard scratchers are important. He is also clever enough to open cabinets and linen closets if he gets curious.Maru would do best in a quiet home with someone who is patient and willing to let him come out of his shell at his own pace. He may hide at first and it can take time for him to trust new people. Once he does, though, he becomes incredibly loving. He will greet you at the door, curl up beside you on a blanket, and be one of the sweetest companions you could ask for.If you are ready to spoil this love bug, contact his foster mom, Mayra, at kittehkaos2020@gmail.com.
