Fritter was found as a stray by the side of the road in mid August, and he came to MCHS on 8/17/2026. We held him for the legal stray hold and no one came forward. We do think he's a beagle mix, probably with other smaller breeds, and he would resemble a dachshund if he didn't have longer legs. He is about 3 to 4 years old and is a small-framed dog who weighs slightly over 23 pounds and is a little thin. He has been vet checked, neutered, and microchipped, and his fee is $150.
Fritter is a nice boy! He's pretty quiet and well mannered. He does occasionally let loose with the hound sound but he doesn't abuse the skill. He loves to be around people and has done well with other dogs. We don't think he'd have a problem with cats and would most likely be fine with kids, too. He seems to have had a little basic training but is open to learning more.
NOTE: Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved.
