Meet Sadie!
Sadie is a sweet senior girl who is looking for a loving home that understands the needs of older dogs. At 14 years old, she spends much of her day resting comfortably in her crate, where she feels most content and secure. She enjoys being petted, watching the activity around her, and taking leisurely walks around the house or yard.
Sadie is very friendly and gets along well with dogs of all sizes, from 4 pounds to 75 pounds. While she does not play with other dogs, she enjoys her stuffed toys and is happy to share her space with canine companions. She has no known experience with cats. Sadie will allow herself to be picked up, though she prefers not to be held for long periods.
Sadie has adjusted well to her foster family’s routine and loves leash walks. She does not appear to know specific commands yet, but she responds to familiar words such as “potty,” “dinner,” “walk,” and “treat.” She is very food motivated and may howl or bark when she knows treat time is approaching. She also “talks” frequently, though she is not generally a yappy dog.
Sadie sleeps in a kennel at night and when her family leaves the house. She will go outside but prefers to use puppy pads, and because she is a senior, she has accidents throughout the day.
Sadie would do best in a calm, loving home with no children under the age of 10. Her ideal family can provide her with patience, comfort, and a predictable routine. She is ready to spend her golden years resting peacefully, enjoying gentle affection, and being cherished by her family.
