Meet Madam!
An affectionate eleven-year-old Domestic Short Hair currently in Reading, MA, whose essence is pure companionship wrapped in a sleek black coat and a wonderfully chatty personality.
At 12 pounds, Madam is a large, loving girl who believes life is better when her favorite humans are nearby! She is the kind of cat who greets you when you arrive, curls up beside you for a cozy snuggle, and happily keeps the conversation going with her signature vocal commentary. Think of her as a dog in a cat’s body, complete with enthusiastic greetings, constant companionship, and plenty of opinions to share!
Madam adores attention and would thrive with a person or family who is home regularly and enjoys having a devoted lap cat nearby. Daily petting and brushing are right up her alley, but she has a playful side, too! Small mouse toys are her absolute favorites, and she enjoys chasing them and batting at wand toys. Even at eleven, she knows how to make playtime fun!
This gentle girl is comfortable with children of all ages. She has been wonderful around school-aged children and has also been gentle with a two-year-old. Strangers do not faze her either. Even unfamiliar visitors and contractors are simply more people Madam might get to know!
Madam needs to be the only cat in her new loving home. Her compatibility with dogs has not been assessed. A senior, retired person, or family with plenty of time at home could be especially compatible with her affectionate, people-centered nature.
Madam has diabetes, which is currently managed with a once-daily pill given in soft food. Her recent lab work showed that her medication is working well, and her vaccinations are up to date. She is also spayed and microchipped. Her hind legs are weak, so she takes stairs slowly and would benefit from having her food, water, and litter box conveniently nearby.
Her new family will also receive her food, automatic feeder, water fountain, litter box, and toys to help make her transition comfortable and familiar. Madam is ready to fill her next chapter with cuddles, conversations, playful mouse chases, and loyal companionship!
