Meet Sapphire, a true gemstone representing loyalty and love. Sapphire is a beautiful 7-month-old Labrador mix who is learning that the world can be a safe and wonderful place.
Sapphire was sadly dumped at a shelter, and was on the euthanize list until a LRRF stepped in to give her a second chance at life. She came into foster care carrying a lot of uncertainty about people. She is a very shy girl who doesn’t immediately trust humans, so she’ll need a patient adopter who understands that trust takes time. But once Sapphire decides you’re her person, you’ll discover a sweet, affectionate girl who absolutely loves to cuddle.
One of Sapphire’s favorite things is playing with other dogs. She enjoys canine companionship and would love a home where she can have a confident, playful dog friend to help show her the ropes. She also loves her toys and is always happiest when she has something fun to do.
Sapphire walks well on leash and is already showing what a wonderful companion she can become. Like many young puppies, she is still learning what belongs in her mouth. Shoes, remotes, and other household treasures can look like pretty tempting chew toys to her, so she’ll need continued guidance, appropriate chew toys, and a little puppy-proofing while she learns.
Sapphire isn’t looking for someone to rush her. She’s looking for someone willing to let her come out of her shell at her own pace. With patience, consistency, and lots of love, this shy little girl has the potential to blossom into an incredibly loyal and loving companion.
If you’re willing to earn Sapphire’s trust rather than expect it immediately, she may just become your most devoted friend. Puppies, (2 years of age and under) – $400.00
Adult Dog, (3 through 8 years of age) – $350.00
Senior Dogs (9 years and up) – $200.00
Special consideration may be granted for dogs with medical needs or bonded pairs.
