Meet Boots!At 16 years young, Boots may be a senior by the calendar, but she certainly hasn’t gotten the memo! This curious, confident, affectionate girl is still very interested in everything happening around her—and she has a surprisingly serious hunting instinct when a wand toy comes out.Boots absolutely loves companionship. She enjoys being near her person and has a wonderfully gentle way of asking for attention, whether that means reaching out a paw when you stop petting her or settling close enough to use your hand as a pillow. She’s affectionate without being demanding and seems happiest when she can simply share your space.And then there’s her playful side! Boots loves wand toys and stalking and pouncing on her “prey.” She’s also started playing independently and has a favorite Lamb Chop toy. After a successful hunting session, she may even gather another toy and add it to her growing collection. She currently has a four-toy “council,” because apparently every serious hunter needs a committee.Boots uses her scratching post and has excellent litter box habits. She is currently enjoying her own room in foster and has not yet had the opportunity to meet other people or pets beyond her foster family, so those introductions will need to be handled thoughtfully.As a 16-year-old, Boots does have some manageable age-related needs, including early kidney disease, arthritis, and occasional constipation. Despite that, she remains curious, engaged, playful, and wonderfully full of life. She’s not looking for a quiet place to fade into the background—she’s looking for a cozy retirement home where she can explore, play, be adored, and enjoy all the soft beds, good meals, and companionship she has earned.If you have room in your heart for a senior who still has plenty of spark, Boots would love to meet you. She may be 16, but this girl is clearly not finished living her best life!
