Elvis is definitely in the building but based on his previous home doesn't want to stay in the building. This cat is an Ex-large strong cat and no screen can keep him contained. Elvis has demonstrated very proficient hunting skills so if you are looking for a mouser this is your guy. Elvis is a lover too he is very social and affectionate with people. He sometimes loves a bit too hard and becomes overstimulated. Elvis would thrive with an adopter that will read his body language and act accordingly. If there is any signs of stress (ears back, tail twitch, rippling back), adopters should stop interaction and let Elvis decompress. Elvis has been in a home with other cats for a short while and found them to be too stressful. A feline free home is recommended. He met a dog once and didn't seem to like it but a well mannered dog and slow introduction they could probably coexist together. Elvis is a really sweet boy and is looking for a home he can keep rodent free and full of love. Elvis may enjoy and indoor/outdoor lifestyle but needs a period of acclimation prior to being allowed outside (at least 30 days). Please note: Our Santa Cruz locationâs Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end âmeet and greetsâ (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If youâd like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
