Cheech is a tiny poodle mix (we think shih tzu but that is just a guess) with a very big wish: he wants to be somebody’s best, best friend. At about 8 pounds, he is affectionate, cuddly, crate trained, good in the car and happiest when he is close to his person. Cheech can coexist with other dogs, but sharing his favorite human is not really his thing. This time around, we want to give him exactly what he is asking for — a single person or couple who wants one little dog to adore and who will make sure Cheech never has to wonder where he belongs again.
Must have: A person or couple looking for one deeply devoted little companion
Exercise: Moderate — Cheech enjoys getting out and about, but he is equally enthusiastic about quality lap time
Best with: A single adult or couple who wants a true one-on-one companion
Not ideal for:A busy household, children, cats or another resident dog competing for his person
Energy level: Medium
Cheech is a lap dog, sidekick and little shadow all rolled into one. He doesn’t need a house full of friends. He needs his person, and we want his next home to be the one where he finally gets to keep them.
Good with dogs: Cheech can coexist and even romp with other dogs, but he should be the only dog in his new home
Good with kids: We think Cheech will be happiest in an adult home where he can be the center of attention
Cats: Same story — Cheech wants to be your one and only, so we are looking for a cat-free home
Fun fact: Cheech is crate trained and actually considers his crate a comfortable safe place. His finder reported that he would go into it on his own and settle down even with the door open. Note we have NOT done DNA testing on Cheech. His coat is curly and sheds very little but we can't guarantee he is fully hypoallergenic.
