WELCOME TO MAD — BIG TINA! Yes. Her name is Big Tina.And frankly, once you meet her, calling her simply “Tina” feels disrespectful. Big Tina is an approximately 2½-year-old Malinois who has officially joined the MAD family, and this girl is an absolute GEM.She’s friendly with people, happily accepts affection, has lived with both male and female dogs, knows a little sit and down, walks nicely on leash, comes when called, and is perfectly capable of settling down and embracing the couch-potato lifestyle.But please don't mistake “couch potato” for “lacking athletic ability.”Because Big Tina can apparently clear a six-foot fence.Six. Feet.Ma’am. So while the rest of us are using gates and doors like civilized creatures, Tina has apparently decided that parkour is a perfectly acceptable method of transportation.Her foster has also discovered another important skill that somehow didn't make the original résumé: Opportunistic counter surfing.If you leave food unattended, Big Tina believes you have made a donation.Thank you for your generosity. She LOVES a ball, will chase it, bring it back, drop it so you'll throw it again, and politely lets you take her toys. She isn't particularly interested in tug because apparently she has standards and would rather you just THROW THE BALL, HUMAN.She's food motivated, athletic, affectionate without being obnoxiously needy, and has a really nice ability to engage with her person and then go entertain herself when nothing is happening.Basically, there is a whole lot of really good dog packed into Big Tina.A few important Tina Terms & Conditions: Cats: Absolutely not. Big Tina has declined feline roommates. Dogs: Has lived with males and females and can do well with other dogs, although she can have a little bit of Big Tina Boss Lady energy. Containment: This one matters. Tina has escaped fencing before and can easily clear a six-foot fence. Her future family needs to take containment seriously. Sports: YES. This girl is athletic, ball-driven and has some really fun potential for someone interested in giving her a job or trying dog sports. Off switch: Also yes. Once the fun is over, Tina is quite happy to clock out.She isn't coming to us as a perfectly trained Malinois. She needs someone willing to put some time into her, give her appropriate outlets, continue her training, and provide the structure that a large, athletic girl needs.But underneath all that Big Tina?Our evaluator found a very nice, social, affectionate dog who genuinely enjoys people and has a ton of potential.Welcome to MAD, BIG TINA. May your balls be plentiful, your fences be unclimbable, and your foster's countertops remain tragically empty. All MAD dogs come with a Fi Collar and six month subscription. Our mailing address is in Michigan, however, our dogs are in private foster homes across the continental US. The state location of each dog is posted with the name of the pet in the title description. We do not disclose exact location of the dogs for the safety of our foster homes and the dogs. If you are located within 4 hours of the pet, please be prepared to pick up the pet. For greater distances, MAD does offer transport assistance for up to 350 miles for the adopter, however transport is primarily on the responsibility of the adopter.
