Oh hi there.. I'm Harriet, but my foster parents call me Harriet the Spy. I'm not sure exactly who Harriet the Spy is or what she has to do with me, but what I do know is that a spy is a person who is looking for something. That makes sense because I am looking for my forever home! I've actually been looking for a new home for a while. A few months ago, I was living on the streets as a stray. I'm a pretty shy girl, so living by myself was terrifying! At night I would dream of having parents of my very own to snuggle up with in a nice, warm, cozy bed. Just dreaming about that made me feel safe and loved, even though it was only for a few precious hours per day. Then, I was caught and brought to a shelter. The nice people there took good care of me, but it isn't a place that a dog could stay long-term. Luckily, I was rescued and sent to a foster home. I LOVE it here and I adore my foster mom especially, but I know this is only a temporary place to stay. So, now I am looking for my very own family!
I am a sweet, shy girl who would do best in a calm home. The dogtor thinks I am about 3 years old and weigh 53 pounds. I love people, snuggling, and getting head scratches and pets constantly. In fact, if my foster parents stop petting me before I am finished receiving them, I will nudge their hands with my nose to let them know they need to continue petting me. What can I say -I was a stray who was starved of attention - now that I know how amazing scratches and pets feel, I want to soak up as much attention as I can!
Some other things you should know about me: I like playing with other dogs, especially my foster brothers. I am also housebroken, but sometimes I get scared and "submissive pee" a little bit. My foster parents said we need to work on my confidence and not being a "scardy-cat." Sometimes being around other dogs helps me be a little braver, but my foster parents still want me to keep working on it.
I really am such a sweet soul that just needs a chance to shine! Please submit an application on our website if you are interested in adopting me!
