Meet Lei Lei!
Lei Lei is an adorable 11-year-old Maltese mix who weighs just 4 pounds. This tiny little lady came to us when her previous owner was no longer able to care for her. Shortly after arriving, Lei Lei underwent surgery to repair a large hernia. Now that she has fully healed, she is ready to find her forever home!
Lei Lei may be a senior, but she still has plenty of spunk and sass when the mood strikes. She loves meeting new people, soaking up attention, and being cuddled. When she's not making new friends, she's perfectly happy spending the day snoozing in a cozy bed. Lei Lei gets along well with older, calm dogs, but she is not a good match for puppies or large breed dogs. Even at 4 pounds, she still thinks she can take them on!
She is leash trained, crate trained, and rides great in the car. Lei Lei will go potty outside, but she is not always consistent, so her new family should plan on using potty pads as well. One of her favorite activities is TNP visits, where she loves spending time with friends, both old and new.
Because of her tiny size, Lei Lei would do best in a quieter home without young children. She would make a wonderful companion for a senior household or anyone looking for a sweet, loving little shadow. Lei Lei does not have a lower jaw, so she requires a soft-food-only diet.
Lei Lei is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, flea and worm treated, and has tested negative for heartworm. Prior to her hernia surgery, she also had a senior blood panel completed. She will need daily eye medication to help keep her eyes bright, comfortable, and clear. As a senior dog, Lei Lei will need bi-annual veterinary checkups to help keep her healthy and feeling her best. Her adoption fee is $300 to help with her medical bills.
