August is a female dog who is suffering from severe canine infectious respiratory disease (CIRD) and is currently not eating. She requires prompt and intensive supportive care, including fluids and injectable medications, to address her illness and prevent further decline. Due to her behavior, we are unable to safely administer fluids or injectable medications in the shelter environment, limiting our ability to provide the level of medical treatment she needs. Without appropriate intervention, August is at risk for worsening illness, dehydration, and additional complications.Despite her condition, August remains resilient and is doing her best while receiving the supportive care that can safely be provided in the shelter. August needs a safe, compassionate placement where she can receive immediate veterinary evaluation, appropriate respiratory support, fluids, medications, nutritional support, and close monitoring in a setting equipped to safely manage her behavior and medical needs. This pet is at risk for euthanasia due to the level of medical care required, which exceeds what we can provide in the shelter.
