Meet Husker! This handsome 4-year-old Siberian Husky mix with striking, partial-blue eyes is as sincere, soulful, and expressive as they come.
Born on a local reservation we work with (he's 4 yrs old), Husker came to us needing surgery for an injury. He has completely healed, cleared his recovery with flying colors, and is ready for his true fresh start. Husker is a talkative, intelligent guy who genuinely loves having full "conversations" with his favorite humans and dog pals.
Husker’s Ideal Day & Personality: * A Heartful Communicator: Husker is deeply emotional and smart. Once he feels comfortable, he loves vocalizing his happiness and checking in with you throughout the day. * Dog Friendly: He enjoys the company of other dogs and does great with a canine companion to converse with and hang out alongside. * Low-Key Routine: Husker loves moderate outdoor time—enjoying nice daily walks and sniffing around a secure yard—followed by relaxing indoors with his crew. * Building Trust: He can be a little shy when meeting new people (especially men), but he warms up wonderfully to patient, gentle women. * The Ultimate Complement: Once he knows he’s safe and trusts you, Husker will happily roll over and ask for belly rubs, making every bit of patient bonding time completely worth it.Husker is looking for a gentle, loving home that will appreciate his sweet, sensitive nature and give him the happy life he deserves.
We are so grateful to help Husker find his perfect match! He can’t wait to start your daily conversations—reach out to us at DesertPawsNM@gmail com to learn more or start the adoption process.

Adoption Fee
Fee set by Desert Paws Inc. Animal Rescue
Each organization sets the adoption fee for their animals. Adoption fees help cover the cost of this animal’s care as well as allowing the organization to help more animals.
we are filling the 'missing link' for abandoned animals in our area. We are a small rural community surrounded by poverty-stricken towns, campgrounds, and reservations where many animals are not neutered/spayed, dumped, abandoned, and neglected. We rehab them, spay/neuter them, get veterinary care for them, socialize, and find forever homes for these great affectionate rescue pets.
