Imagine living with dozens of little dogs, waiting for the day someone finally comes to rescue you.
Then that day comes.
Rescues arrive. Pomeranian after Pomeranian is carried out and loaded into warm vehicles. You wait patiently because surely your turn is coming.
Except it doesn’t.
Instead, you’re placed in the animal control truck headed to the shelter—a shelter already struggling for space and facing heartbreaking decisions when there simply isn’t enough room.
But there’s another Pomeranian in the truck with you, and a rescue approaches. Maybe this is it.
They take the Pomeranian.
And leave you behind.
Not because you did anything wrong. Not because you weren’t sweet enough. You simply weren’t the tiny, fluffy dog everyone had come for.
Thankfully, our partners at MASA were patiently waiting to see if they were needed—and when they realized one dog had been left behind, they didn’t hesitate. They didn’t care that you weren’t a Pomeranian. They didn’t decide you were less desirable.
They saw a dog who deserved to be saved.
And we are SO glad they did. ❤️
Meet Tess.
Tess is just shy of a year old and probably a Pittie mix—which may be exactly why she was overlooked that day.
And boy, did everyone who passed her up miss out.
This girl is an absolute GEM.
She loves children. She loves people. She loves other dogs. She loves water, snuggles, food… honestly, Tess pretty much loves everything- except her kennel. She does not like to go in and she might protest for a couple minutes, but then she quickly settles.
Tess does well on leash but is learning manners, such as it is NOT polite to jump, its not ideal you help yourself to the water out of the fridge or counter serf.
We will be doing more cat testing but for now she is good with them. She met the resident kitty whose over being the tester. He sniffed and quickly realized he wasnt fun but the puppy side of her we could see chasing just to play because to Tess everything is a game and you should always make the best of it.
Maybe she never understood why she wasn't picked first. But she certainly seems grateful that MASA knew she was worth picking.
Tess got her second chance, and she isn't wasting a single second of it.
She loves life. She loves BIG. And now all she needs is someone who looks at her and says:
“This time, Tess, you're the one I pick.” ❤️
