Meet Mama, the 3 year old brown tabby girl. Mama came to the Shelter after her previous guardian reported that she was too effective of a hunter. Mama is a social cat who, after she gets to know people, loves being pet. She has been around children as young as 2 years old and has done well. She also has been around a cat-savvy German Shepherd as well as other felines in her previous home. Mama may do well as an indoor-outdoor cat in her next home or may even enjoy more of a catio set up (safe outdoor enrichment without the access to wildlife). Adopters should monitor Mama’s predation on local wildlife and be mindful of the harm it can cause. Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
