Hans is presently at Medina Petsmart, and he has a lot to say about that! He is so tired of being in a cage, and will tell us so when we go in to care for him and the other cats there. meow, meow, meow.... He absolutely LOVES playtime, and will immediately go after toys to play with, or he loves the homemade house some sweet young volunteers made for the cats. Hans is polydactyl, meaning he has extra toes that only add to his charm! He is also FIV-positive, (very faint positive test results) but don't let that discourage you. FIV-positive cats can live long, happy, healthy lives. The virus is primarily spread through deep bite wounds from fighting with fellow cats, so cats that get along peacefully can safely live together. FIV cannot be transmitted to people or dogs. Hans takes an inexpensive over-the-counter L-lysine supplement daily and will need to continue taking it in his new home. Paws and Prayers cats are spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, FIV/FeLV tested (positive), dewormed, current on flea/tick prevention, and microchipped at the time of adoption. They are litterbox trained unless otherwise noted. Please be aware we do not walk around standing & holding our shelter cats - this is unnatural to them and we like to keep them as comfortable as possible.
