Meet Obie!
Obie is an adorable 8-month-old Australian Shepherd mix who currently weighs about 30 pounds and is expected to be around 40–45 pounds when fully grown.
Obie may look like he has a very serious face, but underneath that thoughtful expression is a very sweet boy who is learning that people are good—and that people come bearing treats! He is a little shy and is still building his confidence, but every day he is discovering that he can trust his people and that regular meals, gentle pets, and lots of love are pretty wonderful things.
Once Obie trusts you, his sweet personality really shines. He loves getting attention and will happily give you kisses to show you how much he appreciates you.
Obie absolutely loves other dogs and enjoys having canine friends around. He is playful and thinks toys and bones are great fun. A confident, friendly dog in his forever home could be a wonderful companion to help him continue coming out of his shell.
Obie is looking for a patient family who understands that trust takes a little time. Give him some patience, consistency, treats, and love, and you'll get to watch this handsome boy blossom into the happy, affectionate dog he is meant to be.
Obie is ready to find the person who will show him that he is safe, loved, and finally home.
The adoption amount is a suggested donation of $200 to $300 dollars based on the pet's age.
**Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family is responsible for coming to Charlotte to complete a meet and greet. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to pick up the pet as soon as they are approved to adopt. **
