Meet Cooper!Cooper is back on the hunt for his forever home, and if you’re looking for a goofy, affectionate, high-energy sidekick who believes life should be filled with friends, adventures, water, and plenty of attention, this silly boy may be exactly what you’re looking for!Cooper spent about a month and a half in his adoptive home, where his family got to know even more about what makes him special. They describe him as a silly, energetic dog who absolutely loves attention. He loves to play—especially with other dogs—and would be thrilled to have a canine buddy who enjoys a good game as much as he does.He’s also an excellent adventure companion. Cooper loves going for car rides and does wonderfully in the car. And if your adventures involve water? Even better! This boy LOVES water. Pools, splashing around, and even bath time are all perfectly acceptable activities in Cooper’s world. At home, Cooper is just as affectionate as he is playful. He loves his people, has done wonderfully with children, and is happiest when he gets to be part of whatever his family is doing. After he’s gotten his energy out, he’s more than happy to trade playtime for snuggles and curl up with his favorite humans.Cooper is also a smart boy who wants to please. In his previous foster home, he learned “down” in about an hour, responded well to gentle guidance, used a doggy door, walked nicely on leash, and did well in his crate. He’s a young, energetic guy, so he’ll thrive with a family that will continue giving him exercise, enrichment, structure, and opportunities to learn.So why is this wonderful boy looking for another home?Cats.Cooper previously lived in a foster home with a cat without reported issues, but in his adoptive home he began chasing the resident cat. With mixed experiences around feline friends, we think Cooper’s best match would be a cat-free home or potentially a home with a very dog-savvy cat and humans prepared to carefully manage introductions and interactions. Cooper may simply find cats a little too interesting for his own good!What we do know is that Cooper absolutely shines with people and other dogs. He’s social, playful, affectionate, funny, adventurous, and ready to make someone laugh on a daily basis.Cooper thought he had found forever once already. Now he’s hoping the next chapter is the one that sticks. If your ideal companion is a playful dog by day, adventure buddy whenever the opportunity arises, and cuddle buddy when the fun is over, Cooper is ready to meet you. They were rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas.Meet and greets are by appointment only. An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance. We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect). Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico. While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.
