Meet Leroy! Leroy is a 1-year-old, approximately 60-pound Pit Mix who is basically a giant puppy in a strong, 60-pound body! He is EXTREMELY playful, loves having fun, and has plenty of energy to keep his future family on their toes. Leroy is going to need an experienced dog owner who understands that young dogs need guidance, structure, training, and plenty of patience. He is still learning his manners and boundaries and doesn't always realize that he is a BIG boy! His previous owner says he is good with kids, but his extra playful and pushy puppy personality can sometimes be a little much. Because of his size and energy, we will require the whole family to come meet him. An active family would be ideal for Leroysomeone ready to give him exercise, mental stimulation, training, and all the outlets a young, energetic dog needs. We think this goofy guy has a LOT of potential with the right person willing to put in the work! Leroy hasn't been around many other dogs, so we're still getting to know how he feels about canine friends. A dog test will be required with any dogs currently in the home. We have no idea of him with cats and we think extreme caution and super slow and patient introductions is best to make sure everyone is comfy. The good stuff? Leroy is crate trained, calm and well-behaved in the car, and is perfectly okay with being bathed and brushed. He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccines. Leroy isn't looking for someone who expects a perfectly polished dog right away. He's looking for someone who sees the goofy, playful young dog underneath the rough edges and is ready to teach him how to be the best version of himself.
