Meet Waffles!
Waffles is a very sweet boy, plain and simple. ❤️ We estimate he’s around 2 years old.
Waffles came into rescue after being abandoned in a crate outside of a PetSmart in Spring. Since then, he has been neutered, is heartworm negative, and has been patiently waiting for someone to give him the fresh start he deserves.
During his time in boarding, Waffles has shown us what a wonderful companion he can be. He is smart, eager to please, responds well to guidance, and absolutely loves positive attention. He’s also fantastic on a leash. When Waffles goes for a walk, he has a mission: sniff everything and cover as much ground as possible! He can pass other dogs without making a fuss and is also a great passenger in the car.
And this boy LOVES water! Give Waffles a pool to splash and play in, and he is one happy pup. Whether he’s playing in the water, going for a walk, or heading out for a car ride, Waffles is always ready for some fun.
Waffles gets along well with other dogs and loves to play. Because he is a big, energetic boy, his play can occasionally become a little too enthusiastic after an extended period. He does best with someone who recognizes when it’s time for him to take a break, settle down, and reset.
That being said, Waffles would also be perfectly happy as an only dog. This boy LOVES his people! Give Waffles a person to call his own, and you can expect to have a new shadow following you from room to room. ❤️ He truly just wants to be close to his people and be part of the family.
Waffles is kennel trained, but long days confined to a kennel are not a good fit for him. His ideal home would be one where he isn't routinely kenneled for eight or more hours at a time and has opportunities throughout the day for exercise, interaction, and breaks. If needed, arrangements can be made for Waffles to go to his new home with a sturdy, secure kennel.
Waffles is a large, energetic bully-breed boy, so we feel he would do best in a home without young children—not because he has shown aggression toward people, but simply because his size and enthusiasm could easily send a little one tumbling!
❤️ Waffles is currently looking for a foster OR forever home. He would thrive with an active family who will give him structure, exercise, continued training, and plenty of love.
