Puck is estimated to be 10 months old and is very new to foster care. He’s a neutered male up to date on vaccines. Although he is currently a solo cat, he has previously lived with another cat. Here’s what his foster volunteers say about him:

1. How would you describe the cat's general personality?

        Puck is a quiet, curious, cool and playful little "hunter" and will become more and more social and people-oriented over time. He loves chasing toys, jumping, watching the outdoors, and observing everything around him. He enjoys being part of whatever is going on and likes to grab all your attention. But he is cool, and still prefers companionship on his own terms and does not always want to be touched.
   

2. Does the cat enjoy being pet?

        Yes. Puck barely come over and ask for pets, but if you gently reach out and some time, he will let you pet his head. However, noticed that he is not in the mood all the time. Have to be very careful otherwise he will hit or bite you.
        If yes, on what parts of its body does the cat like to be pet?
   

Puck likes being petted on his head the most, especially around the top of his head and chin. This is where he is the most comfortable and relaxed. Are there any parts of its body that the cat does NOT like being touched?

Definitely NOT his rump.

3. Does the cat come on your lap?

No.

4. Does the cat like to be held?

We have never tried this before. It would be a great challenge to catch him. He currently prefers to keep all four paws on the ground and interact with people without being restrained.

5. Does the cat sleep in your bed?

Sometimes, but only for a while. Puck usually sleep under the bed during daytime.

6. Does the cat seek your attention?

Yes. Puck loves to grab all the attention. He will sit or lie on the desk while we are studying or working, stare at us, get on the keyboard or textbooks. He also meows, scratches chairs and wall when he wants to play.

7. Does the cat like to play?

YES.

        What are the cat's favorite games and toys?

He especially enjoys wand toys, toys with fur, and anything with feathers. He loves chasing moving toys and will sometimes bat or kick them away just so he can chase after them again. Interactive toys that let him stalk, chase, and pounce are always his favorites.

8. How vocal is the cat? What kinds of sounds does the cat make? Puck barely "meow"s. He will occasionally meow when he wants attention.

9. Does the cat scratch a scratcher? If no, please explain.

        . Yes, but he also really enjoys scratching a variety of other surfaces. He likes scratching the mattress, blankets, chairs, the sofa, cardboard boxes, and sometimes even the wall.
   

10. Does the cat always use the litter box? If no, please explain. Yes.

11. What food and frequency is the cat currently eating? We give him unlimited dry food of a mix of Wellness and Instinct, a 3oz wet food can each day, and three piece of Greenies Dental Treats and Instinct Mixers. Even though it is unlimited, I think he only eats about 100g dry food each day.

        Is the cat picky about food?
    
        He is not a picky cat. He will eat a variety of foods, and we have found that salmon is definitely his favorite. He especially enjoys salmon-flavored can or treats.
        What is the cat's favorite treat?
    
        He likes all kinds of lickable cat treat, and he likes Greenies as well. Salmon flavor the best!
    

12. What medication is the cat on, and how is it administered?

        N/A.
    

13. Does the cat ever swat (claws in) at you? If so, under what circumstances?

        3 times. When we tried to pet him.
    
        Has the cat ever scratched (claws out) you?
    
        Once. When I tried to use a brush to brush him.
    
        Does the cat ever nip (teeth without breaking skin) you?
    
        Once. When I tried to pet his rump.
        Has the cat ever bitten you (breaking skin)?
        No.
    

14. To the best of your knowledge, how does the cat react to new people? Social? Fearful?

        Puck is still a little shy around new people. He will usually hide when someone unfamiliar comes, but now he adjusts much more quickly.
    

15. If you have observed the cat with other animals, please describe how they get on? Puck never had a chance directly interact with other animals. However, he did once frighten by a large dog when he was viewing outside through the window. The dog was simply walking down the street, but Puck immediately hissed, jumped away from the window, and hid under the bed. This was one of the most frightened reactions we have ever seen from him.

16. Does that cat have any cute/quirky traits that aren’t covered by the previous questions?

        Puck loves viewing the outside. He can spend a long time sitting by the window watching everything going on outdoors, especially at night. If the curtain is closed, he will even scratch at it to let you know that he wants it opened again.
