HISTORY: SABI SABI came to F&F as a stray from a colony in Santa Fe and was found to be FIV+. However, as is typical with many FIV+ cats, this cat has no symptoms, is expected to be in good health and expected to live a normal lifespan. While conventional thinking is to only place an FIV+ cat in a home with no other cats or with another FIV+ cat, there are many “mixed households.” According to Cornell University, the primary mode of Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) transmission is through repeated fights resulting in the exchange of blood, and it poses no threat to humans or other species. TEMPERAMENT: Named after the beautiful game preserve in Kruger National Park due to his sand colored fur, SABI SABI is a handsome boy who would enjoy going to a quiet home where he can lay by a window, and enjoy the love and affection of his people. In West African Pidgin English, "Sabi" means to know, to understand, or to be deeply skilled or knowledgeable. SABI SABI is a sweet cat who is certain to make your house a home. AGE: born approx. 9/8/20 MICROCHIP #: -7176 DATE OF STERILIZATION: 9/8/26 VAX RECORD: FVRCP #1: 9/8/26, FVRCP #2: 9/30/26; FVRCP expires: 9/30/27; Rabies expires: 9/8/27 FELV/FIV test: 9/8/26, FELV neg, FIV+
