Meet Pennyworth, the adolescent male orange tabby. Pennyworth came in with 9 of his friends from a person who was feeding outdoor cats, concerned about their safety and wellbeing but unable to take them in. Pennyworth was initially a bit shy but is warming up to staff and volunteers with patience and churru treats. Pennyworth may enjoy a home with one of his feline friends, but is not required to be adopted with them. Pennyworth has lived with a variety of aged cats and may do well in a home with a resident feline after a slow, thoughtful introduction. He has history with a young child in his previous home. Pennyworth may do well as an indoor-outdoor cat after a period indoors acclimating to his home (at least 30 days). He may be just as happy (and likely more safe) indoor only. We do not have any history of Pennyworth with dogs. When in his most recent home, he used his litterbox reliably.Pennyworth is available for pre-adoption. Come meet him, fall in love and take him home after his neuter surgery. Please note: Our Santa Cruz locationâs Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end âmeet and greetsâ (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If youâd like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
