❤️ Personality & Breed Information
Matilda is a beautiful 4-month-old Husky mix weighing approximately 12 pounds. This adorable little girl is still at the beginning of her journey, with so much growing, learning, and exploring ahead of her. She's looking for a loving family who will help her develop into a happy, confident, and well-rounded companion.
At four months old, Matilda is still very much a puppy. This is an important stage of her development, when positive experiences, consistent routines, and gentle guidance can help shape her confidence and behavior as she grows.
Huskies are often known for being intelligent, energetic, playful, adventurous, social, and independent. They are active dogs who enjoy exploring their surroundings and participating in activities with their families.
As a Husky mix, Matilda may develop some of these characteristics as she matures. Her future family should be prepared for a dog who may need regular physical exercise, mental enrichment, consistent training, and plenty of opportunities to explore and stay engaged.
Huskies can also be vocal, curious, and skilled escape artists, so secure fencing, proper supervision, and reliable leash habits will be especially important as Matilda grows.
Because she is still developing, her adult size cannot yet be determined from her current weight alone.
With the right guidance, patience, and love, Matilda has the opportunity to grow into a wonderful lifelong companion.
Training, Adjustment & What to Expect
At only four months old, Matilda is still learning about the world. Her future family should be prepared for the normal responsibilities of raising a young puppy.
Rescue dogs may arrive with basic training at best, so adopters should be ready to continue working on potty training, crate training if desired, leash walking, basic commands, recall, appropriate chewing, household boundaries, and positive socialization.
Huskies are intelligent but can also be independent thinkers. Positive reinforcement, patience, repetition, and consistent routines will be essential in helping Matilda develop good manners and confidence.
Short, enjoyable training sessions will help keep her engaged while strengthening the bond she builds with her new family.
Because Huskies are often adventurous and curious, Matilda's adopter should also prioritize secure outdoor spaces, proper identification, supervised exploration, and continued recall training. She should not be allowed off-leash in unsecured areas.
Her family should understand that puppies require supervision, structure, and time. Accidents, chewing, teething, and occasional mischief are normal parts of puppyhood.
The 3-3-3 Rule
3 Days: Time to decompress and begin feeling safe.
3 Weeks: Time to understand her new household routine.
3 Months: Time to build trust, settle in, and begin feeling truly at home.
These are guidelines rather than deadlines. Every rescue dog adjusts at their own pace, and Matilda should be given the time she needs to feel safe and secure.
Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care
Matilda's vaccinations are current, and her spay status has not yet been confirmed.
Because she is only four months old, her adopter should review her medical records with a veterinarian to determine whether she needs additional puppy vaccine boosters, deworming, flea and parasite prevention, microchipping, or other preventive care.
If Matilda has not yet been spayed, her future family should discuss age-appropriate spaying with a veterinarian.
As a growing puppy, Matilda will need quality puppy nutrition, regular veterinary examinations, age-appropriate exercise, dental care, grooming, nail care, and continued preventive healthcare.
Husky mixes may also develop a thick double coat that requires regular brushing, particularly during seasonal shedding. Her adopter should be prepared for appropriate coat maintenance as she grows.
Because Matilda is still developing physically, her family should avoid excessive repetitive jumping, strenuous forced exercise, or activities that place unnecessary stress on her growing joints.
Adopting a puppy is a long-term commitment that includes the time, financial responsibility, training, and care necessary throughout her life.
