10/22/26 Meet Cammie! Poodle mix, about 8 months old. Cammie's mom was dumped on an older Veteran who did the best he could. Unfortunately another dog was dumped on him. Neither were spayed/neutered, so you guessed it...a litter of puppies. Mom appears to be a pit mix or bulldog mix and dad appears to be some sort of doodle. There's no telling what kind of doodle he is, sometimes doodles end up being a mix of many breeds. The man who has mom and dad reached out to us recently for help with finding homes for the puppies (now about 8 months old) and to help get everyone spayed/neutered. So here we are! This man did the best he could and has provided safety, shelter, food and water but was not able to let all the puppies live inside. Cammie is good with other dogs. She has not been around cats or kids. We do believe she would be fine with kids.
Cammie has started at the Paws in Prison program this week. This is a wonderful 8 week program where each dog is paired with inmate trainers. The dogs live at the prison with the inmates. The inmates work on the basics with the dogs (house training, crate training, leash walking etc.) as well as basic commands and sometimes some tricks! They meet weekly with a certified dog trainer. This is an amazing program! When the dogs graduate they have all the skills needed to pass the Canine Good Citizen test.
Cammie will graduate from Paws in Prison the week of 12/14. She can be pulled from the program sooner if her adopter wants her sooner. No matter what, we hope to have an adopter ready and waiting for her by 12/14.

"Presenting Cammie, the beautiful and talented sister of Nelda who we posted earlier today. They’re different colors, but the resemblance is obvious. Same eyes, same ears and same wired hairs sprouting here and there. Cammie is smart, friendly, and sweet, but she’s a bit more bashful than Nelda. And truth be told, Nelda has been known to push Cammie around. Ah, sisterly love! Cammie is an 8-month-old mixed breed...most likely, she’s a tossed salad of breeds. We don’t have weights yet on these babies, but my guesstimate is 35-40 pounds each right know. Cammie’s coloring and markings are gorgeous. She’s a super puppy, and she’s going to sail through training. And my goodness, she certainly is easy on the eyes!
She is spayed, UTD on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.
Located in Arkansas, but transport is available. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them on Saturdays in MD, PA, NJ, or CT
