dexter

Dexter (A566815) ??Dexter is one handsome boy, and you can definitely see the Lab/Corso mix in him. He has a stunning black coat and the most brilliant brown eyes. ??When we first met, Dexter was a little shy about taking treats and hesitant about getting on leash. Once we got moving, he was strong on the lead, but with some gentle corrections, he settled in nicely. He seemed especially content hanging around the big pen, taking everything in.And then came my favorite part—Dexter finally decided I was okay. ?? Once he let his guard down and took that first treat from me, he started sitting for treats afterward. Those little moments of trust are such a reward when you spend time with a shelter dog.Dexter was perfectly content watching the mowers work around the property and simply taking in the world as it passed by.He may need a little time to warm up, but underneath that initial shyness is a boy who wants to trust. Give Dexter the patience to get to know you, and you may just earn one very special friend. ????
