Meet Finn, a bright, curious 60 pound Collie/Labrador mix who turns 8 years old this November. He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vetting. He’s looking for someone who enjoys sharing their attention, teaching a dog new things, and making everyday outings interesting. Finn loves games and training. He’s smart and enjoys a challenge, although he can lose interest when things become too repetitive. Mixing up his games, practising different skills, and exploring new walking routes help keep him engaged. His ideal person would enjoy that interaction and be excited to include him in their day.
Finn likes being close to his people and often follows along with whatever you’re doing. He isn’t a big snuggler, but he shows affection through licking. He also explores the world with his nose and mouth: chewing sticks, squishing tennis balls, and enthusiastically dismantling toys are favourite activities. He’ll need suitable chew toys and supervision with things he could chew apart. At home, Finn barks very little and hasn’t been destructive of household belongings. He will bark when people visit but takes his cues from his owner and warms up quickly to visitors. He has not lived with cats or other dogs. Cats are not recommended but he does have the potential to live with another dog.
His ideal home would be someone who works from home at least part of the time or is home more often than not to meet his mental and physical needs.
