Meet Clementine 8 Pounds of Sweetness Looking for Her Safe Place!
At just 2 years old and a whopping 8 pounds, Clementine may be tiny, but she has a BIG story to tell. Clementine is one of 14 terrier mixes Hunter's Village Rescue welcomed from a heartbreaking hoarding case involving 85 dogs in Lake County. While we don't know everything about her past, we do know that this sweet little Rat Terrier is learning what it means to feel safe, loved, and cherished.
And if there's one thing Clementine has figured out already, it's that a warm lap is pretty much the greatest place on Earth!
Here's what we're learning about our little Cutie Clementine:
Professional Lap Warmer: Clementine absolutely LOVES snuggling with her humans. Give her a cozy lap and some love, and she's one happy little girl!
House Manners Superstar: In her first five days in foster care, she's only had TWO accidents! Pretty impressive for a little girl adjusting to an entirely new world!
Doggy Relationships: Clementine is still figuring out life with other dogs. She's making progress with her foster sister, but she can be protective of her crate, especially when food is involved. Interestingly, she's perfectly happy enjoying treats alongside her foster sister outside of her crate! She may do best with a patient, respectful canine companion or as someone's one-and-only princess.
Walks? Hard Pass! Clementine hasn't quite embraced the whole leash-and-harness concept. In fact, she's absolutely terrified of it! Her current walking strategy involves planting all four paws firmly on the ground and refusing to budge. Her foster family has resorted to carrying her along on walks. Fortunately, at 8 pounds, she's pretty portable!
❤️ A Tender Little Heart: Clementine is still skittish and easily frightened by unfamiliar experiences. She's going to need a patient family who understands that trust takes time and who will celebrate all those little victories along the way.
✨ Clementine's Dream Home ✨
We're looking for someone who doesn't need a dog that's ready to conquer the world on day one. Someone who understands that sometimes the biggest accomplishments come in the tiniest packages.
A family willing to give her time, patience, a predictable routine, and plenty of reassurance as she learns that life can be wonderful.
And, of course, a warm lap is absolutely nonnegotiable! ❤️
Clementine has already been through more than any little dog should have to experience. Now it's her turn to discover the good stuff: soft beds, gentle hands, unconditional love, and a family to call her very own.
Her adoption donation is $250 and will include vaccines, microchip and spay Please follow this link to submit an application:
