Meet Lilo, the Yorkshire terrier mix gal. Lilo came into the Shelter with some other dogs after their previous guardians were unable to continue caring for them. Although initially reserved, Lilo has warmed up with time and patience. Out in the yards with familiar people, she enjoys engaging with people. When meeting other dogs, Lilo has coexisted. A home with another dog may be a fit after a meet ân greet at the Shelter. We do not have any history of Lilo in a home with cats or children. On Saturday, October 31st, the Shelter is celebrating Halloween through an âAdopt Your Booâ special. This dogâs adoption fee is reduced to $31.Lilo is available for pre-adoption. Come meet her, fall in love and take her home after her spay surgery. The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering âPawsitivity Bucksâ with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw! Please note: Our Santa Cruz locationâs Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end âmeet and greetsâ (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If youâd like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
