Meet
Jackie
, an 8-year-old German Shepherd grandma who deserves to spend her golden years finally knowing what it feels like to be cherished! ❤️ This sweet, lovely lady has clearly had a hard life - she has fly-strike damage on her ears from spending too much time outside, signs of having been repeatedly bred, and some age-related lumps and bumps that haven't received the care they deserve. Jackie can be vocal and reactive when people or other dogs pass her kennel, which may be a reflection of the outdoor guard-dog role she was expected to fill, and she does seem a bit undersocialized with other pups. However, she
gets along fabulously with
her little buddy King (#A5804262), who came into the shelter with her
! She’d love to go home with him, but doesn’t have to. Jackie will need a patient home willing to help her adjust, provide any needed veterinary care, and shower her with the TLC she's been missing. She may need a little extra work, but this beautiful senior girl is absolutely worth the investment - come give Jackie the peaceful, comfortable, love-filled retirement she deserves!
-8 year old black and brown German Shepherd
-81 pound spayed female
-up to date on all shots and preventatives, so ready to go home with you today!
came to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on 10/4/26 with pal King (#A5804262) as owner surrenders
, as their original owner died with no one to take them
-sweet little grandma that hasn’t had the kindest life - she has clearly lived outside her whole life and has been bred multiple times
-can be a bit reactive to barriers like fences or doors and with other dogs - would do best as queen of the castle
