Sweet & Snuggly Scotty
Scotty is a purebred male Australian Shepherd with the perfect balance of playful energy and cuddle time. He’s the kind of dog who will always be waiting at the door to greet his family with excitement when they come home, ready to make you feel like you’ve been gone forever—even if it was only a few minutes!
Overall, Scotty has a relaxed, easygoing personality. One of his favorite things to do is stretch out in the classic Aussie “sploot” position, especially on a nice cool tile floor. In fact, tile is definitely his favorite place to lounge!
Scotty doesn’t require a lot of extra fuss—he simply wants to be wherever his people are. He absolutely lives for belly rubs! You’ll often find him sitting on your feet with his back against you, patiently waiting for you to start rubbing his belly.
Before long Scotty will flop dramatically onto his back to make sure those belly rubs continue as long as possible. We truly can’t say enough about how affectionate this boy is. Whether he’s lying at your feet while you work, curled up beside you on the couch, or sharing your bed at night, Scotty is happiest simply being close to the people he loves.
Like many young Aussies, Scotty has a fun, goofy way of showing his excitement. When you come home, he may gently grab the hem of your shirt or shorts to invite you to play, and he occasionally jumps up to say hello. With a little continued training and consistency, these happy greetings can easily be redirected.
Scotty is a confident, carefree boy who does not show signs of anxiety. Loud noises don’t bother him much at all—in fact, he’ll often wait until the very last second to move out of the way of a lawn mower or other noisy equipment!
He’s always been friendly and curious around other dogs and enjoys meeting both new canine and human friends. Scotty also loves car rides. He happily hops right into the vehicle and rides comfortably whether he’s in a wire crate or relaxing in the cargo area.
Scotty would do well as either an only dog or in a home with other playful dogs. He enjoys wrestling, playing, and then stretching out for a well-earned nap in his signature sploot position. He’s a lovable, goofy companion with an affectionate heart who is sure to keep his family smiling every single day.
If this sweet, goofy boy sounds like the perfect addition to your family, we’d love to hear from you!

General Info - PLEASE READ! *Our $450 adoption fee is based on the cost of rescuing, transporting and vetting each dog; we do not try to compete on prices with municipal shelters whose funds are paid by the city. Our philosophy is to rescue highly adoptable dogs, have them live kennel-free in private homes for temperament assessments and individual personalities.
We work hard to match EACH dog with the right family - kids or no kids, other dogs male or female and/or cats. With very rare exceptions all dogs over 6 months will be spayed or neutered PRIOR to adoption - dogs under 6 months will include a spay/neuter date AND referral info for lower-cost surgery if the adopter does not choose to use her or his personal vet. OUR VETS WILL NOT PERFORM SPAY NEUTER SURGERIES UNTIL DOG IS 6 MONTHS OLD.
