Missy may be small, but the love she has to give is anything but. This darling Chihuahua has the sweetest soul and a gentle, trusting nature that makes her impossible not to adore. She warms up to new people quickly and, once she knows you’re a friend, she’s happiest right by your side—whether she’s curled up in her cozy bed, being carried around, or snuggled under the blankets with her favorite human.
Missy absolutely adores people and has never met a treat she didn’t appreciate! She’s food-motivated, enjoys mealtime, and is always happy to earn a tasty reward—though treats should be given in moderation because this little lady likes to keep her girlish figure.
She gets along beautifully with all dog-friendly dogs and truly enjoys having canine companions around. Missy is generally a quiet little girl and rarely barks unless the other dogs decide there’s something worth announcing. She would prefer a home without cats, as they simply aren’t her cup of tea.
Missy walks nicely on a leash and enjoys getting out to explore. She is doing well with her potty training and thrives on a consistent schedule. Because she doesn’t let you know when she needs to go outside, she’ll do best with a family that takes her out regularly. She doesn’t require a fenced yard or a kennel, making her an easy addition to many different types of homes.
Missy would be happiest in a home with older, respectful children or adults only. We’ve learned that young children make her feel frightened and uncomfortable. While she may growl to ask for space, she has not shown any desire to lash out. She’ll thrive in a calm home where her boundaries are understood and respected.
While she’ll occasionally toss around a toy, people are by far Missy’s favorite thing. She would much rather be held, cuddled, and showered with affection than spend her day playing. She’ll happily soak up every bit of love you have to offer and will return it tenfold with kisses, loyalty, and unwavering devotion.
Whoever is lucky enough to welcome Missy home won’t be disappointed. She is an incredibly kind, affectionate, and adaptable little companion who will cherish every bit of attention she receives. In return, she’ll fill your days with unconditional love and remind you just how special the bond between a dog and their person can be.

Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe.
