Hi, I’m Werthers! I came to Mostly Mutts when I found myself in need of a home! Thankfully, they took me in, and I am soaking up all the love and attention from the volunteers here and am now ready to find a family of my very own. Plan to come meet me soon and see if I am your new furry family member!
• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and though I wasn’t quite ready to play with them, I was interested and did not show any aggression, so if you have a nice dog at home already, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over.
• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I’m a handsome senior gentleman with a sweet, friendly personality and a fun sense of humor. I may move a little slower these days, but I’m still spunky, curious, and enjoy seeing what’s going on around me! I’m a little hard of hearing and can be a bit unsure at times, but mostly my loving nature just shines through. I tried my best to be brave during my bath, even though I let out some adorably pitiful moans and cries that made my bather just love me. If you’re looking for a sweet fellow with plenty of charm and personality, I’d love to meet you. / Energy level: 3-5.
• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I'm in the Mostly Mutts University training program and have already mastered the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, and ‘leave it’ commands and I look forward to learning more. Let's continue my training together with the free lifetime training classes that Mostly Mutts offers for all their adopted dogs! I’m a bit enthusiastic when treats are involved, so I appreciate gentle reminders to take them politely. / I’m doing well in my crate at Mostly Mutts. / I’ve only had a couple of accidents on the shelter schedule, so I have a feeling I’ll do well in my new home.
• LIKES/DISLIKES: I love spending time with the nice volunteers, soaking up attention, and enjoying tasty treats. I’m sure that once I’m settled into my forever home, we’ll discover many more favorite things to enjoy together! / I wasn’t a fan of car rides—other than that, like all dogs, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.
• MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I just had a dental cleaning, so my mouth is fresh again—and not the talking-back kind of fresh! I’m on an over-the-counter joint supplement called Cosequin that is good for all older dogs.
