A VERY SMART PUPPY: Approx. 3-4 months old / Approx. 21 lbs. & growing
Hi there, I’m Malachi! I’m a darling puppy who came to Mostly Mutts when I found myself in need of a great home and family to raise me! I am soaking up all the love and attention from the volunteers here and I heard them say that I’m now ready to find that family which sounds great to me! Come meet me soon and see if I am your new furry family member!
• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and liked them, though I can be initially reactive when I see other dogs. So, if you have a nice dog at home already, let’s meet with one of the trainers and see if we can be pals! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over or nibble on as I’m in the quite mouthy playful stage of puppyhood.
• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I’m a cute, fun-loving puppy with a friendly personality and a smart, curious mind. Since I’m in the mouthy stage, I love exploring the world with my mouth—which means shoes and especially shoelaces can look pretty tempting! Having plenty of appropriate toys on hand helps me make good choices. I wasn’t the biggest fan of my first bath—what was that sprayer thing? But I was a good sport through it and absolutely loved being dried off with a towel. I’m a sweet boy who’s ready to learn, play, and grow with my forever family. / Energy level: 4-6 currently.
• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I'm in the Mostly Mutts University training program and have already learned the ‘sit’, ‘down’, ‘stay’, ‘come’, and ‘place’ commands. I also know how to accept friendly strangers without jumping. I’m just a baby so I think this is a pretty impressive list of skills already! I look forward to learning a lot more, so let's continue my training with the free lifetime training classes that Mostly Mutts offers for all their adopted dogs! I’m looking for a family that will teach me everything I need to know to grow up and become a wonderful adult dog—including starting to train me not to chew on you and the kids so we’ll all be happy—so get ready for some training with your new best friend. / I’m doing well in my crate at Mostly Mutts. / I’m having accidents on the shelter schedule, so I’ll need my new family to potty train me in our yard.
• LIKES/DISLIKES: I love playing with toys, learning new things during my training sessions, and spending time with the nice volunteers. As I grow and settle into my forever home, I’m sure we’ll discover lots of other favorite activities to enjoy together! / I can’t think of things I don’t like yet since I’m so young, though like all dogs I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.
