A spirited approximately ten-month-old Labrador Retriever/Black Mouth Cur mix currently in Greer, SC, whose essence is a joyful burst of energy wrapped in a beautiful fawn coat with a striking black muzzle and a bright white patch on her chest. Honey is the kind of puppy who wakes up ready to turn every day into an adventure, whether she is sprinting across a securely fenced yard, sniffing every interesting scent, digging for hidden treasures, or inviting everyone she meets to join an enthusiastic game of tug-of-war. She is also a world-class cuddle enthusiast who believes belly rubs are one of life's greatest gifts!
Like many puppies her age, Honey is happily navigating her teenage phase. She already knows sit, down, stay, up, and off, and her quick learning shows just how bright she is. She thrives with positive reinforcement and is continuing to build confidence with leash manners, potty training, and responding when exciting distractions appear. Once her energy has been spent on a good run or hike, she settles into a much calmer companion who is happy to relax by your side.
Honey enjoys chew toys, car rides, and quiet time in her crate after a few minutes of settling. She is friendly with people, enjoys meeting other dogs, and did well during a daycare evaluation, making playful canine friends along the way. Because her excitement can lead to enthusiastic bouncing and playful body slams, she needs a home without young children and a family committed to guiding her with patience, consistency, and encouragement.
She receives daily medication and follows a special diet to help manage environmental and food-related allergies. She also needs supervision outdoors because she sometimes tries to sample grass, rocks, sticks, and mulch during her explorations. With thoughtful guidance, she continues making wonderful progress!
