Rolo came from a shelter: the Bakersfield shelter.
He arrived at the shelter at 5 months old and stayed until we were asked to help him. The shelter has no background on him
Rolo arrived at 9 months at our facility. Like any puppy who has been couped up in a shelter, the first time seeing the world was a shock.
After a month of introducing him to the new world, Rolo came out of his shell and is now a very playful, loving, and utterly curious 10-month-old.
Rolo is looking for an Adult-only home that has experience having a dog that is initially shy; he will need another dog or 2 of the same generation that are stable and playful. He learns fast from his Canine companions. Rolo’s monkey-see-monkey-do instincts are very present.
He is very food motivated. Rolo will thrive in a home where routine is part of the lifestyle. Rolo, like any puppy, still uses his mouth to communicate play (he is mouthy like any 10-month-old). His favorite toy is a talking ball, he takes it everywhere.
Puppies are a life-long commitment. They need time, training, vet care and healthy feeding to become good canine citizens. Don't even think of adopting a puppy unless you intend to invest the time and money and commitment required, and you can expect to lose a few good shoes along the way!

The minimum adoption donation ranges from $350 to $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is 100% tax deductible.
Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
Our adoption process begins with completing an application on-line. A phone screening will soon follow, and lastly a home visit will be conducted by our volunteers.
