Peanut and Cashew are a package deal! These brothers are bonded tight and need to stay together. Peanut is smaller, but braver. Cashew is more timid but follows in lil bro’s footsteps wherever he goes. After coming into the shelter undersocialized, these boys spent some time in a foster home where they learned to relax and become accustomed to human company. While still on the shy side, they have come a long way and will prosper in a quiet home with understanding adopters. They love to play with strings, springs, and one another, and have come to appreciate the benefits of being petted. Their fur is super soft! They remain a bit hand shy, but do very well if approached slowly and held comfortably. They will blossom even more with patience and time. Peanut & Cashew are available for pre-adoption. Come meet them, fall in love and take them home after their neuter surgery. Their adoption fees are 2 for 1 since they are a bonded pair. Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
